Judith Ellen Sarah Augustin

Judith Augustin, founder of Studio Augustin, is an artist and designer. She studied Art, German Language and Literature, and Visual Communication at the University of Art and Design Kassel. She took the foundation class at Prof. Barbara Hammann and continued in the studios of Prof. Norbert Radermacher and Prof. Urs Lüthi. Her video works and collages have been shown internationally in galleries, museums, and festivals.
Her design career began as an Art Director at NEXT communication + design in Königstein. She deepened her expertise in digital solutions and websites while working with some of the pioneers of the early Internet as Creative Director at Intouch, Integra, and Genuity in Bad Homburg and Paris.
Judith Augustin is a lecturer in UX design and regularly leads workshops on creative methods and collaborative design.
CAREER
From 1999: Art Director at NEXT communications + design in Kronberg and Königstein – responsible for campaign design for Hewlett Packard, Deutsche Bahn, and Canton Electronics.
2000–2002: Creative Director at Integra and Genuity in Bad Homburg and Paris – in charge of digital experiences including the e-learning programme for Cisco, and websites for Degussa, Dresdner Bank, Motorola, and Start Amadeus.
since 2003: Freelance Creative Director in Frankfurt am Main and Nosara, Costa Rica for clients such as Pringles, Radios AG, sweetbox Japan, Kunst- und Auktionshaus Döbritz, Usedomer Landhaus, and bs+ Städtebau und Architektur.
2007–2017: Creative Director at (((vroom))) service GmbH – corporate publishing and event design for Land Rover, Procter & Gamble, Lacoste, BOSS, Allianz Bank, and Dresdner Bank. Developed the bilingual quarterly customer magazine TRUE COLOURS for satis&fy AG.
2014: Founded Studio Augustin – specialising in elegant, inspiring, and minimalist design for interdisciplinary print and digital projects.
Studio Augustin continues to work with a wide range of international clients from business and culture, including NEXTPACK, t.serv, Stellenmarkt.de, Taipan Consulting, MachFilm, Personaltrends, muetterberatung.de, satis&fy AG, Roi GmbH, Krieger GmbH, KUNNAMON, Xamalink, Atelier1318, Orban&Streu, SWIFT GmbH, Einrichtungspartnerring VME GmbH & Co. KG, INTERLIVING, TRENDHOPPER, SAP Concur, Kunst- und Auktionshaus Döbritz, and Galerie Hanna Bekker vom Rath GmbH.
2024: Studio Augustin starts collaborating with Dobrigkeit Design on branding, trade fair, social media and web design projects. Their joint clients include Lumoral/Zeroplaque, Xamalink, and SAP Concur. Together, they also offer workshops on creative processes and creative strategies.
Judith Augustin is a member of the DDC – Deutscher Design Club. Together with Sophie Dobrigkeit she runs the DDC Women’s Tables, she is one of the initiators of Learn&Burn DDC Lab for Female Leadership and was a Councillor at Deutscher Designtag for Gender Equality and LGBT*IQ from 2022 to 2025 (on the council’s board together with Uta Brandes). Her latest initiative, the Women’s Design Academy, has been officially selected as part of the World Design Capital 2026.
